Stomach Cancer
What Is Stomach Cancer
This is cancer of the stomach; a hollow organ which is part of the digestive system.
Located in the upper abdomen under the ribs, it turns food into liquid it receives from the esophagus.
Food is then moved into the small intestine where it is digested more.
The Wall of This Organ Has Five Layers, They Are:
1. First Layer-Inner Layer or Lining (Mucosa). Juices are made by glands in the inner layer help develop food. Most of these diseases begin in this inner layer.
2. Second Layer-Submucosa. This is support tissue for the inner layer.
3. Third Layer-Muscle Layer. This layer creates the rippling motion that mixes and smashes food.
4. Fourth Layer-Subserosa. This layer is a support layer for the outer later.
5. Fifth Layer-Outer Layer (Serosa). This outer layer covers the organ. It holds all the layers together.
What Are Stomach Cancer Symptoms?
When this disease does form, unfortunately early symptoms are rare, making it hard to detect and diagnose. In later stages, it can produce symptoms which may include one or more of the following:
1. Nausea
2. Blood in the stool (also a symptom
Colon Cancer)
3. Vague abdominal pain and discomfort (mild to severe and usually above the navel)
4. Persistent nausea and/or vomiting (can be vomiting blood)
5. Loss of appetite
6. Abdominal bloating/swelling and fluid build-up
7. Changes in bowel habits
8. Fatigue or feeling extremely tired (also a symptom of
Pancreatic Cancer)
9. Unexplained or unintentional weight loss
Because these symptoms can also be due to other causes, only about 1 in 5 of these cancers are found early in the United States. That means 80 percent are found in later stages, when it spreads.
How Is Stomach Cancer Diagnosed?
Tests to diagnose this disease include: Upper G.I. Gastrointestinal series, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), Computed Tomography (CT) scan, CT-guided needle biopsy, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan, Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scan, Chest X-Ray, Laparoscopy, Blood Tests (complete blood count aka CBC will test for anemia), and an Electrocardiogram (EKG).
After diagnosis, staging can be set. Stages are 0 (zero), 1, 2, 3, 4, and recurrent. In stage 4 the disease has spread to other organs.
What Are The Traditional Treatments For Stomach Cancer?
As I researched treatments for this disease, I found the standard treatment is removal of the entire organ. And if the disease has spread beyond the organ, treatment will be of the symptoms. Beyond that, the plan is make the victim as comfortable as possible. (You know what that means.)
Other treatments include combining chemotherapy and radiation therapy, especially if the disease has spread to include the lymph system.
One of the biggest causes of this disease is smoking. Likewise, the biggest prevention is not smoking; and one also should eat a healthy, balanced diet with lots of vegetables and fruits.
What Are The Complications Of This Cancer?
Complications include the spread of this disease to nearby organs, including lymph nodes, liver, lungs and other organs.
Alternative Cancer Treatments That Work!
When I was diagnosed in January 2007, my doctor gave me as short as 3-months to live and rated my cancer somewhere between stage 3 or 4.
Without checking any alternatives, I started chemotherapy at my health care provider’s oncology department.
I was scheduled for 6-rounds of chemotherapy; each round was a double-bag.
During my second infusion, I experienced a deathly reaction to the chemicals and almost died in the treatment chair.
That near-death experience was the catalyst that sent me in search of Alternative Cancer Treatments.
After weeks of searching, I found a wonderful clinic which was recommended in one of Kevin Trudeau’s books. I devoured the website information and read all the survivor’s testimonials. Then, my husband and I discussed and prayed about the possibilities of me going to the clinic.
It was a big decision to go; it shouldn’t have been, but it was. I had butterflies like I have never had them before. Then, together my husband and I made the decision for me to go to the clinic.
The treatments were for two-weeks; now they do three-weeks for less money than I paid for my two-weeks. I regained my energy and smile back almost instantly after the treatments began.
After returning home, I made an appointment with oncology. He ordered another PET-scan because he couldn’t detect any cancer remaining when he physically examined me. I held my breath for about a week until the results came back…Cancer-Free!!
That was three-years ago.
I have full faith that you can become the next cancer survivor by going to the clinic. Take your opportunity now and have a FREE CONFIDENTIAL MEDICAL EVALUATION, to discover if you are a good candidate for Alternative Cancer Treatments.
