Prostate Cancer

Man Prostate Cancer3

What Is Prostate Cancer

It is a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissues of this gland.

What Is The Prostate, and What Does It Do?

This gland is a small, squishy, walnut sized gland that is positioned under the bladder and in front of the rectum.

It wraps around the urethra, which is a tube that runs from a man’s bladder through the length of the penis. The urethra carries urine and semen out of the body through the penis.

It produces and stores the clear liquid part of the seminal fluid used during ejaculation. For this reason, it is a vitally important part of the male sexual organs.

Above and attached to this male gland are two small glands called the seminal vesicles. They secrete about 60 percent of the substances that makes up semen. Running along beside and attached to the sides of the gland are nerves that control erectile function.

These nerves are easily damages if the cancer victim chooses radiation or surgery. This damage can cause irreversible erectile dysfunction, essentially rendering a man impotent.

Good news for men: the overall 5-year relative prostate cancer survival rate for 1995-2002 in the United States was 99.9 percent for white men, and 97.6 percent for black men. Of course the bad news is, you lose your prostate to surgery.

More good news: PSA testing is able to detect most of these diseases long before a man actually has symptoms of any kind. If you wait until you have symptoms, the disease has probably spread, which makes treatments much more complicated.

What Are Prostate Cancer Symptoms?

Symptoms are delayed or slowed urinary stream; extremely small urinary stream; dribbling after urinating or incontinence; inability to empty the bladder; experiencing pain during urination or pain during ejaculation; unexplained lower back pain or pain during a bowel movement; excessive night urination; blood in the urine or semen abdominal pain; anemia; unexplained weight loss; lethargy; and stiffness of the lower back.

Unexplained weight loss for men can also be symptoms for: Colon Cancer, Kidney Cancer, or, Liver Cancer; while blood in semen is also a symptom of Testicular Cancer.

Most men complain as much about the following named test as much as women complain about mammograms. This test is the Digital Rectal Exam (DRE), crudely called by most men as the “finger wave”. The DRE and PSA blood test are two great tests for detecting this disease.

What Tests Are Used To Diagnose Prostate Cancer?

They are urinalysis, transrectal ultrasound and prostate biopsy, MRI and CT scans, urodynamic tests, abdominal ultrasound, and cystoscopy.

What Are The Stages Of This Cancer?

Skin Cancer only has two stages, where this one is rated in four stages. They are stage 1, 2, 3, and 4. Stage 4 is assigned when the disease has spread to other sites including lymph nodes, the bones, rectum, liver, or lungs.

What Are Traditional Treatments For This Cancer?

Because this is a slow grower, older men can often use the wait-and-see method. The cancer may or may not develope symptoms which need to be treated.

Younger men are quite often offered surgery to discover if neighboring lymph nodes are involved. If this procedure is done, and the lymph nodes contain cancer, surgery to remove the cancerous gland, neighboring lymph nodes, and tissues is the usual recommendation.

Radiation therapy is usually done when the cancer is contained in the prostate. Radiation can be done external or internal by inserting instruments to accomplish this.

Cryosurgery is sometimes recommended and used. It uses instruments to freeze and destroy cancer cells. Complications to this treatment may be leakage of urine or stool, which means the necessity to wear an adult diaper.

Chemotherapy may be recommended either as a general drip into the veins or by needle injections directly into the gland. These drugs are some of the most profitable durgs for the pharmaceutical industry. (Plain language interpretation: they costs an arm and a leg.)

Webber Has Cancer

In October 2009, a spokesman disclosed in a statement that: at the age of 61, Andrew Lloyd Webber was diagnosed with early stages of prostate cancer.

Peggy Sue Roberts, December 2009, at age 61 Alternative Cancer Treatments That Work!

When I was diagnosed in January 2007, my doctor gave me as short as 3-months to live and rated my cancer somewhere between stage 3 or 4.

Without checking any alternatives, I started chemotherapy at my health care provider’s oncology department.

I was scheduled for 6-rounds of chemotherapy; each round was a double-bag.

During my second infusion, I experienced a deathly reaction to the chemicals and almost died in the treatment chair.

That near-death experience was the catalyst that sent me in search of Alternative Cancer Treatments.

After weeks of searching, I found a wonderful clinic which was recommended in one of Kevin Trudeau’s books. I devoured the website information and read all the survivor’s testimonials. Then, my husband and I discussed and prayed about the possibilities of me going to the clinic.

It was a big decision to go; it shouldn’t have been, but it was. I had butterflies like I have never had them before. Then, together my husband and I made the decision for me to go to the clinic.

The treatments were for two-weeks; now they do three-weeks for less money than I paid for my two-weeks. I regained my energy and smile back almost instantly after the treatments began.

After returning home, I made an appointment with oncology. He ordered another PET-scan because he couldn’t detect any cancer remaining when he physically examined me. I held my breath for about a week until the results came back…Cancer-Free!!

That was three-years ago. I have full faith that you can become the next cancer survivor by going to the clinic. Take your opportunity now and have a FREE CONFIDENTIAL MEDICAL EVALUATION, to discover if you are a good candidate for Alternative Cancer Treatments.

Get the clinic name by going to my Cancer Survivor page and use the “Clinic Name Request Form” You’ll be so happy you did!!

So, if you're a man who wants to keep your prostate and doesn't want to wear adult diapers, may I suggest you request Free Medical Evaluation for using Alternative Treatments?

Thank you for visiting my site and my page concerning this important male gland.

I wish you and your family the best of health and happiness,
