Liver Cancer
What Is Liver Cancer?
This is one of the deadliest forms of this disease.
In 1990, the World Health Organization reported 430,000 new cases.
Most all died of their disease after spending millions and millions of dollars for treatments that didn't save their lives.
The good news for us living in the United States is: three quarters of these cases are in Southeast Asia.
However, this disease is on the rise in the United States due primarily to chronic Hepatitis C, which is an infection of this organ and can lead to this disease.
In the developed world, cirrhosis caused by chronic alcohol consumption is the most common on-slot for this disease.
It is also common for us, here in the United States, to have some other form of cancer and have it spread, or metastasize to his organ. Some examples could possibly be lung cancer,
breast cancer,
colon cancer,
or,
esophageal caner
When cancer spreads from another body organ or tissue to this one, it is not called liver cancer, it is called metastasized breast cancer (for example).
When it comes to treatments, because the cancer did not start here, it is treated differently than if it did.
What Does The Liver Do In Our Body?
It is the body's great magician. Here are three functions:
1. It changes foods we eat into chemicals we need for life.
2. It converts ingested and absorbed poisons into water soluble salts to be removed by the kidneys.
3. It makes and secretes bile into the digestive system. (Bile is a fluid that both aids in digestion, and transports fats and other waste products into the intestine.)
What Are Liver Cancer Symptoms?
They include abdominal pain, unexplained weight loss, unexplained fevers, abdominal fluid and swelling, jaundice (yellow coloring of the skin and whites of the eyes), and muscle wasting without explanation. Unplanned weight loss can also be a symptom of
Colon Cancer.
What Tests Are Used To Make A Proper Diagnosis?
Tests include: blood tests and imaging tests. Imaging can include ultrasound, CT scan, and MRI. A tissue sample used in biopsy is usually removed by needle inserted into the organ. This carries risks of bleeding and infection.
Stages:
Stages of this disease are: stage 1, 2, 3, and 4 (spread to other areas of the body).
What Are Traditional Liver Cancer Treatments?
After diagnoses and staging, treatments may involve surgery on the affected area, called partial hepatectomy. If the whole organ is involved, then a complete replacement may be suggested, this is called total hepatectomy. The second one involves a donor program and a waiting list.
Please remember waiting lists are for those who have lots of time. For cancer victims, time is a your most precious commodity. I urge you to use it wisely. When you have done your research and feel you have a plan of action, then don't waste any time. God has said that it is up to us to pick our course, then He will direct our every foot steps.
Other treatments can include chemotherapy (chemoembolization, regional chemotherapy, or systemic chemotherapy); or it may include radiation therapy with radiosensitizers.
Alternative Cancer Treatments That Work! Here is a short version of my miracle. When I was diagnosed in January 2007, my doctor gave me as short as 3-months to live and rated my cancer somewhere between stage 3 or 4. Without checking any alternatives, I started chemotherapy at my health care provider’s oncology department. I was scheduled for 6-rounds of chemotherapy; each round was a double-bag administered about two-weeks apart. During my second infusion, I experienced a deathly reaction to the chemicals and almost died in the treatment chair. That near-death experience was the catalyst that sent me in search of Alternative Cancer Treatments. After weeks of searching, I found a wonderful clinic in Mexico which was recommended in one of Kevin Trudeau’s books about Natural Cures. I devoured the website information and read all the survivor’s testimonials. My husband and I discussed and prayed about the possibilities of me going to the clinic, after-all we're talking about Mexico. But, the website testimonials covered the safety issue when the patients all said they were perfectly safe, at all times. It was a big decision to go; it shouldn’t have been, but it was. I had butterflies like I have never had them before. Then together, my husband and I made the decision for me to go to the clinic. The treatments were for two-weeks; now, they do three-weeks for less money than I paid for my two-weeks. I regained my energy and smile back almost instantly after the treatments began. At the end of my two-weeks I felt perfectly healthy and completely rid of cancer. After returning home, I made an appointment with oncology. He ordered another PET-scan because he couldn’t detect any cancer remaining when he physically examined me. I held my breath for about a week until the results came back…Cancer-Free!!
