Kidney Cancer
What Is Kidney Cancer?
This type begins in the cells that line the small tubes inside the organ.
The majority (over 85%) of these cases in adults are most likely renal cell carcinoma. See
What is Cancer?
Estimates are about 49,000 people in the United States will be diagnosed with this disease in 2009.
Of that number, deaths will be 11,033 after spending millions of dollars in treatments that didn't work.
God bless you if you're one of the living 49,000. There's affordable hope! Keep reading.
We have two of these organs. Each is about the size of an adult fist. They are known as left and right, they are bean shaped, and located on each side of the lower back toward the sides. They are part of the urinary tract. The primary function is filtering the blood. They make urine by removing waste and water from the blood.
Urine from these organs move to the bladder through a tube known as the ureter. From my
Bladder Cancer
page, you learned urine is excreted from the bladder through the urethra tube.
An additional function of these organs is making substances that help control our body’s blood pressure and also helps in the production of red blood cells. (For this reason, I suggest you do your best to keep them, and not lose one of them to surgery.)
If you lose one of these organs due to accident or kidney cancer, the body can continue functioning.
However, it may perform similar to playing baseball on a pro-team with one arm tied behind your back. In other words, it can be done, but not as well.
Smokers, those who are obese, and high blood pressure victims appear to have a higher risk and/or incidence of this disease. Also, men over age 55 are more likely than women to contract this cancer. (Sorry guys.)
May I strongly suggest if you smoke...stop! I know how hard it is after watching my husband struggle for years to quit. He was victorious two years ago after many, many attempts. Patches worked for him. Perhaps they will work for you, if you smoke or know someone who does.
What Are Kidney Cancer Symptoms?
These include one or more of the following:
• blood in the urine (appearing slightly rusty to deep red)
• weight loss
• fever (also a symptom of
Liver Cancer)
• persistent pain (also a symptom of
Cervical Cancer)
• lack of energy or feeling tired/exhausted (also a symptom of
Lymphoma)
• a mass, lump, or growth in the side/s
The most common of the above symptoms appear to be blood in the urine.
How Is Kidney Cancer Diagnosed?
Doctors use a variety of tests to diagnose this disease. They can include one or more of the following: a physical exam, urine and blood tests, CT scans, ultrasound, biopsy, and surgery.
Staging:
After diagnosis, staging is the process of finding out how far the cancer has spread. Treatment and outlook depend, to a large extent, on the cancer's stage. Staging is set as: stage T0 (T-zero), T1, T2, T3, or T4. Stage T4 kidney cancer means it has spread further than the tissues immediately surrounding the kidney. When this happens, it is said to be metastatic.
Traditional Treatments:
Next, the cancer victim is faced with a variety of treatment decisions. The medical profession who diagnosed the cancer will now suggest a treatment plan which is likely to include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, and vaccine therapy.
In my own case, I tried chemo first. It was worse than the cancer. If I had to do it all over again, I would never have had the chemo!
Alternative Cancer Treatments That Work!
When I was diagnosed in January 2007, my doctor rated my cancer somewhere between stage 3 or 4.
Without checking any alternatives, I started chemotherapy at my health care provider’s oncology department.
I was scheduled for 6-rounds of chemotherapy; each round was a double-bag.
During my second infusion, I experienced a deathly reaction to the chemicals and almost died in the treatment chair.
That near-death experience was the catalyst that sent me in search of Alternative Cancer Treatments.
After weeks of searching, I found a wonderful clinic which was recommended in one of Kevin Trudeau’s books. I devoured the website information and read all the survivor’s testimonials. Then, my husband and I discussed and prayed about the possibilities of me going to the clinic.
It was a big decision to go; it shouldn’t have been, but it was. I had butterflies like I have never had them before. Then, together my husband and I made the decision for me to go to the clinic.
The treatments were for two-weeks; now they do three-weeks for less money than I paid for my two-weeks. I regained my energy and smile back almost instantly after the treatments began.
After returning home, I made an appointment with oncology. He ordered another PET-scan because he couldn’t detect any cancer remaining when he physically examined me. I held my breath for about a week until the results came back…Cancer-Free!!
That was three-years ago.
I have full faith that you can become the next cancer survivor by going to the clinic. Take your opportunity now and have a FREE CONFIDENTIAL MEDICAL EVALUATION, to discover if you are a good candidate for Alternative Cancer Treatments.
