Bladder Cancer

Man Bladder Cancer

What Is Bladder Cancer?

Practically all of these diseases occur in the walls of this organ which is made up of several layers of transitional cells.

Cancer occurs as cells in the walls multiply and form an area of abnormal cells, or a tumor.

This organ is a single hollow organ located in the lower abdomen and is a storage unit of urine from both kidneys.

The walls are muscular in nature, allowing it to expand and contract as it is filled and emptied.

The organ has two inbound tubes and one outbound tube called the urethra.

This cancer occurs mostly in older men who smoke, and less frequently in women or younger men. There are other factors like exposure to some carcinogen substance, other than cigarettes. But, it is believed cigarette smoking is the biggest factor.

What Are Bladder Cancer Symptoms?

They are most often blood in the urine, which will appear red or unusually orange in appearance, like rust. The most prominent symptom is discolored urine. Research found most patients do not report any, or very little, pain.

Pain can also be a symptom of Anal Cancer, Cervical Cancer, Esophageal Cancer, or Kidey Cancer.

For doctors to properly diagnose and determine the type of disease, they must insert an instrument into the bladder to take a small amount of tissue. The insertion is through the outgoing tube called the urethra.

Ouch!

If the doctors find any tissue in the organ which appears other than normal tissue, they take a small sample to be used for the lab. This procedure is called a biopsy. After the biopsy, the doctor will know the type.

Next Comes The Staging.

The stage of the disease is determined by how much of the surrounding tissue, muscles, organs, and lymph nodes are also involved.

Stages are 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and recurrent. Recurrent is the type that has returned after being treated and is now returned.

Because of the lack of symptoms, by the time most of these diseases are discovered, they are usually in the advanced stages, such as 3, or 4. This means surrounding tissue and/or organs are involved.

Recall from my page Types of Cancer, the disease is named for where it originates. When it spreads, it is said to be metastatic. From this organ, the disease can easily spread to nearby organs and tissue such as: the lymph nodes, lungs, liver, or beyond to others.

What Are Traditional Bladder Cancer Treatments?

Treatment depends on the stage, type, victim's age, and overall health. Traditional treatments include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, or a combination of these.

It is not unusual to remove the entire bladder. This brings about a new set of challenges, expenses, and lifestyle changes.

Treatments for this disease are also very expensive. In fact, an April 2009 University of Michigan study showed bladder cancer is the most expensive of all cancers to treat. Click here for the link for the UM study.

Statistics of Americans contracting this disease will be about 68,800 in 2009, and a little over 14,000 will die of it after spending tens of thousands, to hundreds of thousands of dollars on traditional treatments.

Peggy Sue Roberts, December 2009, at age 61 Alternative Cancer Treatments That Work!

When I was diagnosed in January 2007, my doctor gave me as short as 3-months to live and rated my cancer somewhere between stage 3 or 4.

Without checking any alternatives, I started chemotherapy at my health care provider’s oncology department.

I was scheduled for 6-rounds of chemotherapy; each round was a double-bag.

During my second infusion, I experienced a deathly reaction to the chemicals and almost died in the treatment chair.

That near-death experience was the catalyst that sent me in search of Alternative Cancer Treatments.

After weeks of searching, I found a wonderful clinic which was recommended in one of Kevin Trudeau’s books. I devoured the website information and read all the survivor’s testimonials. Then, my husband and I discussed and prayed about the possibilities of me going to the clinic.

It was a big decision to go; it shouldn’t have been, but it was. I had butterflies like I have never had them before. Then, together my husband and I made the decision for me to go to the clinic.

The treatments were for two-weeks; now they do three-weeks for less money than I paid for my two-weeks. I regained my energy and smile back almost instantly after the treatments began.

After returning home, I made an appointment with oncology. He ordered another PET-scan because he couldn’t detect any cancer remaining when he physically examined me. I held my breath for about a week until the results came back…Cancer-Free!!

That was three-years ago.

I have full faith that you can become the next cancer survivor by going to the clinic. Take your opportunity now and have a FREE CONFIDENTIAL MEDICAL EVALUATION, to discover if you are a good candidate for Alternative Cancer Treatments.
