Anal Cancer

What is anal cancer?

It is one of the rarest of all cancers. This disease manifests when cancer cells form in the tissues of the anus.

Actress, Farrah Fawcett struggled with this disease from 2006 until her death in 2009. She received traditional treatments of radiation therapy and chemotherapy.

In 2008 there were only about 5,070 new cases of this disease in the United States; almost all these victims were in their early 60’s. The split among men and women was about 60 percent men and 40 percent women.

The 5-year survival rate is 58 percent for men and 69 percent for women. This survival rate is high because the most used treatment is surgery.

That means the removal of the affected tissue (the anus) and surrounding tissues.

These rates are for those cases in which the disease has not spread to surrounding organs. If the disease has spread, the survival rates decrease remarkably, to around 17 percent.

The anus is the opening at the end of the digestion track through which the solid body wastes exits the body. The body waste, after going through the small intestine, large intestine, and colon, is called feces or stool during a bowel movement.

What Are Anal Cancer Symptoms?

These symptoms are mostly isolated to the region or area of the anus, and include: pain in the rectal area, bloating, change in bowel habits or change in stool diameter, a lump near the anus which can mean swollen lymph nodes, rectal bleeding, rectal itching and/or discharge. Women can also have lower back pain due to pressure on the vagina, and also vaginal dryness.

The above symptoms should not be confused with benign conditions such as: hemorrhoids, fissures, fistulas and anal warts. These can give similar symptoms, but are not anal cancer.

If you have any of these symptoms, your doctor will use various test to confirm if you do or do not have this disease.

Tests may include: a physical exam, endoscopy, anoscopy, rigid protosigmoidoscopy, biopsy, fine-needle aspiration biopsy, sentinel node biopsy, ultrasound, computed tomography (CT scan), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or positron emission tomography (PET scan) the one that used a radio active isotope.

Staging is typical for this disease. They are stage 0 (zero), 1, 2, 3, 4, and recurrent. Stage 4 is set when the cancer has spread to distant organs and becomes very difficult to treat.

What Are Anal Cancer Traditional Treatments?

Traditional treatments include surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. That's pretty much the extent of it: cut it out, burn it out, or use very expensive, dangerous chemicals against it.

Peggy Sue Roberts, December 2009, at age 61 Alternative Cancer Treatments That Work!

When I was diagnosed in January 2007, my doctor gave me as short as 3-months to live and rated my cancer somewhere between stage 3 or 4.

Without checking any alternatives, I started chemotherapy at my health care provider’s oncology department.

I was scheduled for 6-rounds of chemotherapy; each round was a double-bag.

During my second infusion, I experienced a deathly reaction to the chemicals and almost died in the treatment chair.

That near-death experience was the catalyst that sent me in search of Alternative Cancer Treatments.

After weeks of searching, I found a wonderful clinic which was recommended in one of Kevin Trudeau’s books. I devoured the website information and read all the survivor’s testimonials. Then, my husband and I discussed and prayed about the possibilities of me going to the clinic.

It was a big decision to go; it shouldn’t have been, but it was. I had butterflies like I have never had them before. Then, together my husband and I made the decision for me to go to the clinic.

The treatments were for two-weeks; now they do three-weeks for less money than I paid for my two-weeks. I regained my energy and smile back almost instantly after the treatments began.

After returning home, I made an appointment with oncology. He ordered another PET-scan because he couldn’t detect any cancer remaining when he physically examined me. I held my breath for about a week until the results came back…Cancer-Free!!

That was three-years ago.

I have full faith that you can become the next cancer survivor by going to the clinic. Take your opportunity now and have a FREE CONFIDENTIAL MEDICAL EVALUATION, to discover if you are a good candidate for Alternative Cancer Treatments.
